THE LAWRENCE CLARK QUINTET

The Lawrence Clark Quintet is a New York City-based ensemble led by tenor saxophonist Lawrence Clark, presenting original music that honors the jazz tradition while embracing a contemporary and adventurous spirit. Featuring an acclaimed lineup of internationally recognized artists, the group has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States over the past four years.

The quintet has appeared at major festivals and renowned venues including Jazz Nad Odrą (Poland), Zig Zag Jazz Club (Berlin), Jazz Club Unterfahrt (Munich), JazzKeller Frankfurt, Badenscher Hof (Berlin), Jimmy Glass (Spain), Toots Jazz Club (Belgium), Jazz Club Bruchsal, Jazz Club Karlsruhe, Jazz Club 6000 (Denmark), Jazz Club Lustenau (Austria), Ella & Louis (Mannheim), Blue Note Beijing (China), and many others. Known for energetic performances, deep musical interplay, and a compelling stage presence, the group has built a reputation for drawing enthusiastic audiences, with numerous performances selling out and earning repeat invitations from festivals, clubs, and presenters.

Josh Evans – Trumpet

Josh Evans is an internationally acclaimed trumpeter from Hartford, Connecticut, whose career was shaped by legendary saxophonist Jackie McLean. He has performed and toured worldwide with artists including Rashied Ali, Benny Golson, Cedar Walton, Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, Billy Harper, Oliver Lake, Charles Tolliver, Gregory Porter, and Curtis Fuller. A former member of the Rashied Ali Quintet, Evans has appeared in 18 countries and is recognized for his powerful sound, deep connection to the jazz tradition, and dynamic presence on the bandstand.

Theo Hill – Piano

Theo Hill is an award-winning pianist, composer, educator, and one of the leading voices of his generation on jazz piano. Praised by The New York Times as “a vital young pianist at play in New York’s straight-ahead tradition,” Hill has toured internationally in more than 25 countries and performed at major festivals including North Sea Jazz, Umbria Jazz, Montreal Jazz, and Cape Town Jazz. He has worked with an impressive roster of artists including Charles Tolliver, Wallace Roney, Roy Ayers, Gregory Porter, T.S. Monk, and the Grammy Award-winning Mingus Big Band and Mingus Dynasty. As both a bandleader and sought-after sideman, Hill continues to bring a powerful blend of tradition, creativity, and virtuosity to audiences worldwide.

Conway Campbell Jr. – Bass

Conway Campbell Jr. is a New York City–based bassist, composer, arranger, and educator whose dynamic artistry bridges tradition and innovation. A graduate of the University of Hartford’s Jackie McLean Institute, where he studied with Ron Carter, Gerald Cannon, and Nat Reeves, he is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music under the mentorship of Buster Williams. Campbell has performed with acclaimed artists including Jeremy Pelt, Dayna Stephens, Steve Davis, Joe Farnsworth, and Godwin Louis, and is a regular presence at leading New York venues such as Smalls, Mezzrow, The Jazz Gallery, The Django, and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Genius Wesley – Drums

Genius Wesley is a dynamic jazz drummer and percussionist whose creativity, versatility, and expressive artistry have earned him international recognition. A native of Oakland, California, Wesley began performing professionally as a teenager and has since collaborated with acclaimed artists including Sean Jones, Buster Williams, Marcus Shelby, Howard Wiley, Ambrose Akinmusire, and The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol. Equally at home in traditional and contemporary settings, Wesley has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Israel, establishing himself as a sought-after performer known for his powerful groove, rhythmic sophistication, and musical sensitivity.
